Quarterly Clinic Update: September 2025
James Welcomes His 2nd Child….
As some of you may be aware James and his wife Anneli welcomed their 2nd child; Madeleine (Maddie) on 9th June. James returned to the practice from his 4 weeks paternity leave in July; now the very proud and admittedly a little tired father of two beautiful girls.
Say Hello to Our New Team Members!
On 1st July registered veterinary nurse (RVN) Lauren Holtom started with the practice working full time.
Lauren began her journey in veterinary practice at just 14 years old, volunteering as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award, and she has been in practice ever since. Lauren has a particular passion for hospital work, theatre, and emergency cases, thriving in fast-paced and hands-on environments.
On 6th August veterinary surgeon Maddie Trevan joined us working all day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday (and her share of Saturdays!).
Maddie has worked in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Upon joining she said she was “looking forward to building relationships with clients and patients within a practice that prioritises collaboration, community and continued learning”.
On 22nd September vet grad Emma Kemish joined our vet team. After graduating this year Emma has been looking to start her career in a practice that will support her as she strives to excel in all areas of small animal veterinary medicine, whilst encouraging her to pursue her interest in orthopaedic medicine. She is passionate about owner and vet communication, and enjoys being able to connect with owners and is always open to answering questions or having a chat.
Finally also on 22nd September we added a new addition to our front of house team too… Jo Poyner who has joined us working full time.
“I've worked at Dogs Trust for the last 31 years, I was a trainer for 19 of those and then moved into reception where I've been for the last 7 years. I've had dogs for all my life; usually 3 at a time but am currently dog less after losing my 2 boys 2 years ago. Most of my dogs have been rescues and I have also taken on palliative care dogs who have been in rescue so they spend their last months or years in a home rather than in kennels. I live with my 22 year old daughter who is a special needs teaching assistant. I applied for the job at James Horner as I had heard such good things about the care and compassion given by everyone there and am really looking forward to being a part of the team”'.
